Known for his intense workout regimen, Alejandro Ingelmo is taking a healthy approach to growing his business, too. The Miami-bred designer recently relocated his New York showroom within Midtown and is shopping for a larger retail shop in Soho. “We are trying to find a bigger store with more space, but we definitely want to stay in the neighborhood,” Ingelmo said of his Wooster Street shop. His brand will also relaunch its e-commerce site within the next month. “It’ll be more interactive and take social media into consideration,” he said. For the coming seasons, Ingelmo is in a clean and crisp mood. “For resort and spring, we did a lot of whites,” the designer said. “People were surprised to see white in the collection. I usually do darker colors, but decided to go lighter.” He will also travel this week to Los Angeles to celebrate a new red-carpet collection with Swarovski, called Alejandro Ingelmo Evening, featuring women’s and men’s looks adorned with Austrian crystals. “We are getting ready to launch at Neiman Marcus and plan to do something during Paris Fashion Week in September,” he said. Here, the busy designer divulges his secret desires and big motivators.

Best spot in Miami:
“If I’m with my mom, she wants to go shopping. But I always want to eat Cuban food at La Casita.”

Secret indulgence:
“My weakness is ice cream.”

My workout song of the moment is...
‘Loyal’ by Chris Brown. It’s very upbeat.

Hidden talent: “I like to dance, especially salsa.”

Most hard-core CrossFit routine:
“My favorite is Nasty Girls: 50 squats, seven muscle-ups, 10 hang power cleans — three rounds of that.”

My celebrity crush is... Cara Delevingne. “She wears my sneakers and also my heels. I like that she can be a cool downtown girl but also look sexy.”
