This Spanish fashion designer isn’t afraid to stand out. Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, who celebrates 30 years on the catwalk this year, has built a business on her quirky and colorful aesthetic. She oversees an ever-growing product offering that spans clothing, eyewear, jewelry, stationery, home goods and more, and has collaborated with dozens of iconic brands, ranging from Apple to Barbie. De la Prada’s whimsical designs have made her particularly popular in the children’s market, where her many projects include a successful shoe line produced by Spanish footwear giant Garvalin. Sold in high-end boutiques, the collection has grown to include baby shoes, slippers and rainboots. Here, the in-demand designer dishes on relaxing and recharging in her rare moments of downtime.

“When I was a kid, I wanted to be a painter. I love contemporary art. My work has always been inspired by pop art and surrealism.”
