Step Up
Greater L.A. is upping the ante. The Los Angeles-based brand, which manufactures its footwear in California, is bowing a higher-end Violet Tash line for fall ’10. The collection debuted with a capsule spring collection in December and is spinning out into a fuller collection of flats, wedges, booties and thigh-high boots for fall. Featuring wooden platforms and painted heels, the 80-style collection is being targeted at independent boutiques and set to retail between $100 and $200.
Rainy Days
Guess makes sure a girl is covered on a rainy day as they launch their new line of Wellies for fall 2010. Guess’ Wellies are constructed of one-piece rubber molds making them waterproof and leak-free. The Wellies will come in three different prints: a Guess logo, bright leopard print and a version with hardware embellishment. Set to retail at $69, Guess’s Wellies will be available at Guess retail stores and Macy’s.
Take Two
Zigi New York is going rugged with the fall ’10 launch of the Grizzleez line. The 25-style line includes moccasin-inspired flats and boots featured in shearling, cow suede and crepe outsoles with hand stitched details, beading and fringe. The collection is set to retail between $69 and $199 and is being targeted to major department stores and specialty boutiques. Zigi is also readying a new fast fashion collection of juniors footwear for fall. Priced between $29 and $59, the R&C line includes hidden wedge booties, flats, engineer boots and clogs. The 20-style line incorporates fabrics such as tattered denim, flannel, sweater knits and faux fur.
