Rubber boot manufacturer Aigle Boots, of Dallas and Paris, is debuting the Miss Juliette collection, a bedazzled, four-style line of weather-friendly footwear, for holiday ’09. The limited-edition, Swarovski crystal-encrusted styles Bracelet and Starry Night (at left) are available exclusively at Jeffrey New York and retail for $450 and $550, respectively. The Satin and Croco styles offer a chic alternative to the classic rain boot, running between $175 and $270 at retailers across the country.
Spain-based Groupomenbur is pulling out all stops for spring ’10 with three footwear and handbag lines. Evening line Menbur (below) includes 100 shoe and 150 handbag styles. Retailing between $80 and $250 for footwear and $60 and $600 for bags, the line is expected to sell at department stores and specialty boutiques. Meanwhile, the fashion-forward Pilar Abril line includes 60 styles of footwear and handbags and an offering of wallets and belts. Footwear is priced between $40 and $200, with bags retailing for $40 to $180, and is targeted to larger, specialty shops. Both lines, which had soft launches for fall ’09, are available at Endless.com. And the third line, entry-level-priced Avance, includes 40 footwear styles priced between $30 and $120 and 60 handbag styles priced between $30 and $70.
Ed Hardy is straying away from sneakers and flip-flops for fall ’10. The Ed Hardy Platinum collection will feature fashion-forward designs for men and women. Three styles will be offered for men, all with subtle “EH” logos. The six-style women’s collection of heels and boots takes a rock ’n’ roll approach with crystal, stud and chain embellishments. The Platinum line is set to retail from $110 to $200 and will make its debut in February at the WSA and Magic trade shows.
I Do Duo
Los Angeles-based brand Jen & Kim is reaching out to brides-to-be with a new collection of wedding-day footwear. In keeping with the brand’s bespoke tradition, each shoe within the line will be customizable (with choices in a variety of silks, fabrics and luxe skins) and will be sold predominantly at Jen & Kim-hosted parties. The eight-style collection, which also includes matching shoes for the bridal party, is priced between $375 and $550. Jen & Kim will also target high-end bridal boutiques and aims to incorporate flats into the line by spring ’11.
Love is the air for footwear newcomer Lauren Jones, who is unveiling bridal looks for spring ’10. The actress and former beauty queen from Mississippi is introducing about 30 wedding styles, priced between $70 and $119. The line, featuring satin, lace and glass bead embellishments, offers styles in traditional wedding white and deep blue. Expected to officially debut at FFANY this week, the shoes have already been picked up by Nordstrom, Belk, Endless.com and Alfred Angelo bridal boutiques. Jones is also planning to expand into red-carpet and special-occasion footwear for fall ’10.
Spanish designer Chie Mihara is branching into bridal for spring ’10 with a group of 20 styles embellished with flower details, ruffles and lace. Inspired by lingerie and priced between $298 and $350, the shoes come in a palette of soft rose, white and creamy yellow. Styles from the line, which is being targeted to department stores and high-end independents, will also be available at Chiemihara.com and Bergdorf Goodman.
