Teva Teams Up With Glamour

The flip-flop brand has created an exclusive sandal as part of the magazine’s monthly collaboration project.

Velcro sandals just got a bit more glamorous.

Teva has collaborated with Conde Nast’s Glamour magazine on an exclusive sandal style, featuring gray soles and silver leather straps.

Capitalizing on the recent sportswear trend, the item is available at select Nordstrom stores for $80.

Lucas Martinez, marketing manager at Teva Originals, said the partnership came together organically.

“We held a PR event in New York, and some of the editors of Glamour were there,” he told FN. “They had seen a lot of the imitation Teva sandals on the runways, so they were really interested in what we were up to.”

Martinez noted that after collaborating with Opening Ceremony on a series of sandals for spring ’14, Teva was looking for partners that could test the brand’s elasticity.

“Over the past year or so, we've had a lot of people approach us about collaborating, so we've been able to be very selective when it comes to choosing who to work with. We really wanted to do something special for our female consumers, and Glamour is one of the most respected names in women's trends and fashion, so we were excited to see where they would take our Original silhouette,” he said.

The product launch is part of the magazine’s continuing “Glam For All” campaign. Shoppers are encouraged to share photos in their own pair of Glamour x Teva sandals using #GlamForAll.
