With a whopping 44 percent of survey votes, H&M and Jimmy Choo had the most inspired collaboration of 2009. From the moment the companies announced they would work together, anticipation began building. Finally, it reached its culmination on Nov. 14, when Choo fans bought out the stores’ offerings of shoes, accessories and apparel. But they weren’t the only companies to team up. Target and Anna Sui (with 24 percent of votes) debuted a fall collection inspired by “Gossip Girl,” and Payless ShoeSource (nabbing 10 percent of votes) recognized the power of “Project Runway” by signing season four winner Christian Siriano as its newest guest designer.
