New Balance is boosting its presence on the baseball field.
The Boston-based brand announced it has signed Major League Baseball athletes Yadier Molina and Josh Becket to multiyear endorsement contracts. New Balance also re-signed MLB players Mark Trumbo and R.A. Dickey to new deals.
In addition to being the on-field footwear provider for these athletes, New Balance also will support the players’ charitable endeavors.
“We are proud to associate our brand with athletes who share our values, believe in our brand and are committed to giving back to their communities,” Mark Cavanaugh, New Balance’s GM of sports marketing, said in a statement.
This year, more than 450 pro baseball players in the major and minor leagues are New Balance athletes, which is 25 percent of all players. Current endorsers include all-stars Miguel Cabrera, Nick Swisher and Dustin Pedroia.
