Since her Disney days, Duff, 21, has made more than a dozen films, recorded a few albums and created a fashion line, Stuff by Hilary Duff, which includes apparel and footwear. She also just inked a development deal with NBC that will bring her back to the small screen as the star of her own scripted series.
Footwear News recently caught up with the budding mogul to chat about one of her favorite things: shoes.
FN: What was your first big shoe splurge?
HD: I can’t even tell you the brand, but they were expensive. I was 15 and in Italy filming “The Lizzie McGuire Movie.” I bought a pair of really soft and buttery black leather boots. They are the pointiest shoes I’ve ever owned, and I loved them. I wore them out, but they’re still in my closet.
FN: What’s one trend you’re into right now?
HD: I like some hardware on a shoe.
FN: Who are your favorite footwear designers?
HD: Pierre Hardy, Brian Atwood and Christian Louboutin.
FN: How many shoes do you own?
HD: Oh, wow. Probably 200, including boots and flats. I’m kind of a pack rat when it comes to stuff like that.
