After posting strong revenues for 2013, Pentland Brands PLC has more to celebrate.

The London-based company hosted British Prime Minister David Cameron and Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg today at its global headquarters.

The meet-and-greet was held in part to celebrate the privately owned business, which was named the Top European Family Business of the Year at the European Families in Business Awards.

During the visit — which came during a week when officials announced that the U.K. economy had bounced back to prerecession levels — Cameron and Clegg were introduced to employees along the tour.

"In Britain, one of our great strengths is design, intellectual property and fashion," Cameron said in a statement. "Pentland Brands is a business employing over 450 people, that's grown substantially over the last few years, taking great brands and making them even greater. It's a real value-added industry and exactly the kind of business this government will continue to back as part of our long-term economic plan."

"We are proud that our innovations and designs, created by our talented teams here in the U.K., are sold all over the world," said Andy Rubin, CEO at the company, in a statement. "As a third-generation family company, our advantage is that we take a long-term approach to investing in talent, innovation and growing our business globally."

Pentland, which counts Speedo, Lacoste Footwear and Ted Baker footwear among its brands, has grown sales internationally by 33 percent in the last five years.
