Chloe Green, the daughter of Topshop owner Sir Philip Green, took to London’s Dover Street Arts Club Tuesday night to unveil her debut footwear collection.

The ultra-glam, eight-piece collection is designed under the label Chloe Jade Green and includes ultra-high heels and towering wedge designs.

But despite their vertiginous heights, Green assured Footwear News that all the designs are “comfortable.” “I’ve been standing in these for a couple of hours and they’re great,” she said, gesturing to the wedges she sported at the launch.

The collection includes designs such as Misha, a platform slingback in duck-egg blue with a cream platform; Tiger Lily, a peep-toe platform shoe boot in gold leather; and CJG, a platform peep-toe pump in glittery green. And in a nod to Green’s surname, all the shoes have jade-green soles.

Green, who’s been working on the line for the past year, said she came up with the idea for the collection while she “sat around a dining room table with girlfriends, kind of discussing what we wanted [in shoes] and couldn’t find.” Indeed, she described the current collection as “very me ... really [reflecting] things that I couldn’t find and I wanted to wear.”

The line will bow at Topshop’s Oxford Circus store in London on May 17 and will also be sold via Topshop.com. Prices range from 115 pounds, or $183, for the CJG pump to 175 pounds, or $278, for Lady Mama, an embroidered wedge heel. Green said she’s already working on a fall ’12 collection and will soon start designing for spring ’13. She also is considering branching out into other categories.

“I’m kind of seeing where I want to go, if I want to go into clothing or accessories,” she said. “I’ll see first how his collection goes and then take it from there.”
