The second generation of the Prada phone by LG is born. Building on the successful and sleek design of its predecessor, the latest version conceals a slim silver keyboard that slides out from behind its touch screen. Tactile and hi-tech, the mobile phone also boasts 3G compatibility, 7.2 mbps HSPA, a full HTML browser, a 5 mega-pixel camera with Schneider-Kreuznach lens and video calling. But alas, Europeans continue to win out in the technology department. For now, the new Prada phone is available only in the U.K., France, Germany and Italy, for a starting price of 600 euros.
Girl Power
James Brown may have claimed it’s a man’s world, but try telling that to Diane von Furstenberg. To coincide with her Wonder Woman-inspired ready-to-wear collection for holiday, the designer has released a unique comic book through DC Comics. “Be the Wonder Woman You Can Be: The Adventures of Diva, Viva and Fifa” contains tales of female empowerment and independence — attributes the business maven and CFDA chairwoman has been lauding since the 1970s. Proceeds from the comic book sales benefit Vital Voices, a nonprofit organization devoted to training and mentoring women leaders worldwide. The book is selling for $25 in Diane von Furstenberg stores and on Dvf.com through Christmas.
