Brazilian footwear designer Gracienne Myers is moving beyond the basics. After launching her namesake footwear brand in 2005, she is now introducing Clearly Glam, a line of luxe shoe storage boxes that not only lend an air of elegance to any closet but are also sustainably produced. The stackable, transparent boxes are made from recycled PET, the same material used in disposable water bottle packaging. As Myers explains it: “Having 150 pairs of shoes and never being able to find the right style or color to match what I was wearing was such a waste. I wanted to create a shoe box that was lightweight, see-through and true to my environmentally conscious lifestyle.” Clearly Glam is sold at for $9.95 per box, and a portion of the proceeds go to environmental nonprofit Global Green.

Wedded Bliss
As soon as the “I dos” have been exchanged, brides can slip off their stilettos and step onto the dance floor in a pair of comfortable ballet flats by Spare Soles. The Encinitas, Calif.-based company, launched last year by Andrea Padilla Weisner, offers a collection of ballet flats that come discreetly packed inside a matching wristlet. There’s even a pocket inside the pouch for credit cards and personal I.D. Specifically targeted to the bridal market is the new Diamond collection, available in white and ivory satin spandex. And for wedding guests with aching feet, there are similar versions in pink, black, silver and gold, with brown and leopard to be added in December.
