Designers are dusting off their needles and thread for spring. Whether through the use of sequins or silk, embroidery proves to be a key focus for the season. Cases in point: Laurence Dacade uses needle-painting for the flower motif on its clunky sandal, while Christian Siriano creates an abstract floral print for Payless with a silk-nylon blend. Aquazzura's strappy sandal uses mirror work often seen with Indian Banni embroidery, and Jerome C. Rousseau's block-heel pump gets an embroidered canvas treatment. While the shapes here are kept simple, the handiwork is anything but.
