Women's Trend: Low Heels

A more comfortable heel height is making its way into spring footwear.

Kitten heels — and even lower heights — have cropped up in the unlikeliest places for spring ’11. Paired with strappy uppers and cutaway booties, the effect is appealing to even those with a penchant for towering heels. Brian Atwood showed fire-engine red patent T-straps, and Sergio Rossi unveiled metal-plated blue versions. Edmundo Castillo at Santoni and Gianvito Rossi both took a slightly more vamped-up approach, with gladiator-style ankle-strap sandal booties brought down to a mid-heel.
