The fashion flock turned out en masse to kick off the spring '10 shows today, being held at Bryant Park for the last time.
Although the weather in New York turned to fall temperatures, models sashayed down the runways in platform sandals at virtually every show, with patent leathers and braided details making the biggest statement.
Architectural heels and geometric cutouts further added direction to the new crop of footwear. BCBG Max Azria offered up indented platform sandals in soft gray and deep black with braided leather ankle ties, knotted in back, while Ports 1961 opted for geisha-style geometric platforms with knotted periwinkle suede straps by Finsk.
The extreme platform theme continued at L.A.M.B., where the footwear collection also included hints of emerald and studding details.
