In Paris, designers shrugged off the recession with fall footwear that rivaled the beauty and originality of any era, boom or bust. In a year when most could have gone safe, designers showed some of their most extreme silhouettes. One-of-a-kind styles dominated, with glamorous ladylike details, art-driven prints and a delicate icy palette drawing a lot of attention to the shoes on the catwalks.
