Cédric Charlier's boot was a real winner, thanks to bang-on details — the sturdy stacked heel, stiff glossed leather and sophisticated chisel toe — and the way it was worn. After seasons of either tall styles paired with abbreviated hemlines or the unflattering mid-calf skirt with bootie combo, footwear that revealed not a hint of skin seemed very elongating and elegant. The covered-up look featured a thick gold zipper in the back, allowing for a quick exit strategy. The pine hue also didn't hurt — Charlier chose the same color for his invitations and wall panels, and it’s emerged as a key shoe shade for fall '14.
