A look from Marc Jacobs' fall '12 runway collection

Marc Jacobs remains the king of reinvention. Playing on a mishmash of inspirations — from pilgrims to street style — and presenting his fall '12 collection amid a set that resembled “Marie Antoinette’s version of ruins,” Jacobs proved he is extremely adept at delivering truly new thoughts each season. Who would have thought pilgrim loafers with embellished buckles and 3-D floral appliques would be a runway hit? But in the hands of Jacobs, this stacked heel style is reimagined as the perfect compliment to layered voluminous looks topped off with giant furry hats reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland.
