Designers are feeling white-hot for spring ’12. From architectural silhouettes in a variety of fabrications to classic shapes amped up with embellishments, some of Fashion Week’s greatest hits were in the season’s most popular color: white. Alexander Wang and Rag & Bone went effortlessly edgy with ankle straps, cutouts and unexpected heel treatments. Altuzarra and Christian Louboutin for Marchesa played with more traditional silhouettes, but packed a punch with sleek, sexy details, like lace and sheer uppers on geometric wedges. Vera Wang took cues from both camps, combining sharp lines with woven details and cross-straps.
