Menswear flats — offered in both round and winklepicker toe shapes and in ecru, tourmaline and bottle-green hues — tempered the extravagance. Of course, this kind of interplay between footwear and ready-to-wear is always important to designer Consuelo Castiglioni's intelligentsia universe. It's a world that has no room for cliche sexy stilettos that saunter with the pack. With a thick slab sole and big kiltie tongue sticking out, this was a shoe with her characteristic clomp.
