DSquared went back to school for fall ’12. Channeling a 1950s schoolgirl theme, design duo Dean and Dan Caten presented a catwalk collection reminiscent of “Grease,” complete with pencil skirts, cat-eye glasses and blazing cigarettes. The shoes were all class — pointy-toe pumps with ankle straps that featured fun material combos such as PVC and black patent leather, and leopard print with diamante heels. As both metallics and studs reclaim their former glory on the hot list for fall, this iridescent single-sole style (featuring both trends) feels ladylike and refreshing. And who doesn’t need a bit of pure fun?
