Since Simone Rocha (the daughter of designer John Rocha) first showed at English design incubator Fashion East in 2010, she has drawn warm reviews from top to toe. Building upon her first Plexi-wedge brogues, her clever footwear creations have become a collection highlight. She continued to move from strength to strength for spring '14, this time focusing on the formerly fusty, suddenly fashionable pearl. Clusters of faux freshwater gems adorned strappy satin cap-toe heels, raised further still with island platforms. They were a beguiling complement to slashed pouf skirts, transparent shirting and asymmetrical bustiers on the runway. Twisted chokers and even embellished knee-highs also placed pearly whites in the spotlight.
