Not only did Erdem Moralioglu abandon his usual colorful palette for gauzy layers of chalk and black this season, but he also took a very different approach to footwear. Picking up on the flatform trend, his open-toe style featured brogue and lace details plus an unexpected ombré Lucite heel. Designed in collaboration with Nicholas Kirkwood again this season, the look was one of the more interesting shoes statements to come out of London thus far. Riffing on the idea of androgyny, these sturdy stompers completely subverted all the prim collars and floral frippery on display to suggest something darker was in the air.
