Nicholas Kirkwood's fall '11 boots for Rodarte

Nicholas Kirkwood’s imaginative, richly beautiful designs for Rodarte never cease to grab onlookers' attentions. And this season might be the best yet. Covered platform mid-calf boots were given an artistic edge for fall with a trompe l’oeil double T-strap and topped off with Navajo-style geometric beading around the ankle. A mix of textures, including calf hair and a knit sock lining, combined with the velvet platform and heel and contrast-color beaded stripes make the most of the materials. Creatively paired with ultra-feminine 1950s-style A-line dresses and flowing chiffon evening looks, the overall effect was a beautiful balance of ethereal yet powerful fashion.
