MANOLO BLAHNIK
Where he goes to find free inspiration:
“There are hundreds of small museums I could go to, places like Sir John Soames, which is my favorite. Or the Wallace Collection, where they have the most perfect collection of French and English 18th-century paintings and decorative objects. I could also stay at home and watch movies — I’ve still got lots of DVDs that I need to go through. I always find films very inspiring.”
Who influences him:
“I’m mostly inspired by people from history, from objects I see around me in my daily life, by scenes from movies, or excerpts from literature. It could be just a line, or a paragraph that triggers something.”
What he’s most looking forward to this spring/summer:
“I wish I could say going away on holiday somewhere by the sea, but alas, I shall be working through most of it. I enjoy working, so I am looking forward to that.”

Where she goes to find free inspiration:
“I go outside. There’s nothing more inspiring than being outdoors in nature. It could be the beach, hiking a trail, skiing the slopes or simply walking in Central Park.”
Who influences her:
“In life, I’m inspired by anything I haven’t done. It’s true for my designs, too, but I would also say my life itself inspires me. As a woman I know what I need, what I crave, what I feel like wearing — especially when it comes to Collection. For DKNY, I look more to my daughter, my grandkids and the young, creative team around me.”
What she’s most looking forward to this spring/summer:
“Vacation time!”
