It didn’t take long for Gary Champion to find a new gig.

Following his departure from Geox earlier this week, Champion was named president of Waltham, Mass.-based Earth Inc. on Thursday. In his new role role, Champion will oversee all aspects of business development and operations across Earth Inc.'s divisions.

Harry Kubetz will continue in his position as COO of the firm, and Michel Meynard will remain chairman.

For its part, Geox said it will work with Champion to ensure a smooth transition and plans to name a new exec to head the U.S.

As reported, the exec had been at Geox since February and was in the midst of introducing U.S.-specific styles into the collection. The brand recently opened a store on New York’s 34th Street and has been infusing major investment into the U.S. business.

The firm declined to comment on the reason behind Champion’s departure.

Champion also declined to comment. Prior to Geox, he was SVP of wholesale at Clarks for 25 years.
