Kensiegirl is getting its feet wet in the footwear business.

The contemporary brand targeting 14- to 24-year-olds announced earlier this month that it is branching into footwear through a multiyear licensing agreement with Camuto Group.

“This is the perfect time for Kensiegirl to enter into the footwear category, as the brand has seen some great momentum over the last several months,” Kensiegirl’s president and CEO, Eric Karls, told FN in a statement. “Expanding into footwear is the natural next step for us to deepen our connection with the Kensiegirl consumer.”

The first collection will bow at the Fashion Footwear Association of New York show in June 2009. Styles will range from $49 to $59 and will be available at department stores and select independent retailers in October. The aesthetic of the collection will mirror the trends of the Kensiegirl apparel, the company said.
