Phil LaDuca Unveils Bridal

Phil LaDuca has crafted footwear for Hollywood flicks and Broadway musicals, and now the New York-based shoe designer is setting his sights on the wedding chapel. LaDuca unveiled two collections of bridal footwear at The WSA Show for spring ’10, including the higher-end LaDuca collection and the lower-priced Bella Duca line, in hopes of snagging consumers in the growing wedding shoe market. The LaDuca line includes nine styles of heels priced between $325 and $495, while 16 styles are offered in the $165-to-$225 Bella Duca collection. Both collections are set to retail at LaDuca Shoes in New York and high-end wedding boutiques.

Capelta Launches Boot Line

New brand Capelta is bringing a collection of fur-embellished boots to market for resort ’09 and spring ’10. The line, which made its debut during The WSA Show and is based in Los Angeles, includes 22 styles of flat and stiletto boots priced between $195 and $695. The Brazil-made collection is expected to retail at high-end boutiques, including Nellie M. in Los Angeles. Designer Monique Capelta, who started crafting her own boots with scraps of vintage furs and fabrics, is also planning to launch handbags for spring.
