Show organizers are ramping up for the back half of the year. As some are moving forward with mobile apps and digital show guides, others are updating their formats in order to better serve attendees. Here, Footwear News highlights the rest of the year’s markets, both domestic and international.

Capsule New York is moving into a new venue this summer. Buyers at the upcoming editions of FFANY can now access the digital version of the show guide via the FFANY iPad app. Prior to the August edition of the show, FFANY and Italian design school Ars Sutoria will hold a workshop on the art of shoemaking, from July 16-20.

Buyers hitting Magic can now plan their show experience through the recently launched mobile app. As a result of attendee requests, the trade show has rearranged its schedule to allow buyers to also visit the Project, S.L.A.T.E. and Menswear markets.

To help buyers identify vendors with U.S.-made products, FN Platform will introduce the “Made in the U.S.A.” program during the August edition. The show’s opening night party also will have an Americana theme, replete with square-dancing, pie-eating and a hot dog-eating contest. The day before the market opens, the United Shoe Retailers Association will hold a seminar covering topics including sourcing, costing and vendor relationships.
