Timberland Names Senior Director of Performance Shoes

Gregg Duffy, formerly of Merrell, will manage the entire performance footwear portfolio.

Gregg Duffy has been named senior director of performance footwear for Timberland Co., the company announced yesterday.

In his new role, Duffy will report to Brian Moore, global VP of men’s footwear and outdoor performance, and will be responsible for the brand’s entire performance portfolio, including hiking, multisport and other seasonal offerings.

Duffy joins the Stratham, N.H.-based company from Merrell, where he served as the product line director for the firm’s performance running line, which launched for fall ’08. He previously worked for brands including Puma and Saucony.

“Gregg makes a great addition to the Timberland Outdoor Performance team,” Moore said in a statement. “He has a real passion for product design and an innate understanding of the performance market and the consumer we’re looking to serve. His experience will be invaluable as we continue to build our performance portfolio, especially in the areas of hiking and multisport.”
