Tom Cheffo, sales manager for Yaleet Inc., distributor of Naot, passed away on July 21 after a long battle with cancer. He was 54.
Cheffo joined the Melville, N.Y.-based company in 1991. He held a range of positions there from customer service manager to trade show manager.
Prior to working in the footwear industry, Cheffo was involved in sheepskin coat manufacturing. He eventually opened Sheep & Leather, a leather shop in Huntington, N.Y., that he co-owned with twin brother Dominic. According to Steve Lax, president of Yaleet, Cheffo was one of Naot’s first customers.
Cheffo is survived by his wife, Susan; daughter, Casey; and son, Chris.
