Macy’s restructured footwear team is about to take shape.
Top- and mid-level management has been confirmed, and industry insiders said that offers were extended for buyer-level positions last Wednesday. “The new structure includes parallel buying and planning organizations,” confirmed Jim Sluzewski, a spokesman for the company.
Muriel Gonzalez will serve as EVP/GMM. Her planning “partner” will be Patti Ongman, EVP/General Planning Manager. Tony Pelle will be Group Vice President/DMM for shoes, and will be paried with Maria Perry, Group Vice President/DPM for shoes.
In the meantime, vendors are still anxiously awaiting an official statement confirming the buyer-level merchant structure.
