Kenneth Cole is upping its focus on sourcing with a new high-level executive appointment.
The company has tapped sourcing veteran Peter Charles as its chief supply-chain officer, a newly created position for the company. He was most recently EVP of sourcing and production at Nine West Footwear Group, where he managed the footwear and accessory sourcing business. Previously, he held supply-chain roles at Stride Rite Corp. and The Timberland Co.
“It’s a very exciting opportunity, and I look forward to making some changes,” said Charles. “Kenneth Cole has tremendous brand resonance. The business has enormous upside potential.”
Charles added that he was drawn to the company, in part, because of the talented executive team it has been building, “from CEO Jill Granoff on down.”
Charles said he will work to ensure that product is delivered on time and meets the quality standard that customers have come to expect.
