If the economic downturn has pushed consumers into penny-pinching mode, you wouldn’t know it by the bids placed on eBay for Gov. Sarah Palin’s red Naughty Monkey shoes.
According to NBC Alaska affiliate KTUU’s Website, the Double-Dare pumps were put on the auction site by someone claiming to be Palin’s niece and sold for $2,025 on Tuesday. That's not bad for shoes that normally retail for about $100. But the heels weren’t part of Palin’s now-infamous $150,000 wardrobe (which is allegedly sitting in bags at the Republican National Committee headquarters).
As FOOTWEAR NEWS previously reported, the pumps were paid for by Palin last summer at Juneau, Alaska-based Shoefly & Hudsons.
