The WSA Show has lost a key player.
WSA Collections Director Leslie Gallin told Footwear News that she had resigned from her position at the company on May 28 due to a change in management direction since ENK International bought the show in December 2007. Gallin’s departure comes just two months after COO Diane Stone announced her retirement, and nine months after CEO Skip Farber’s resignation.
Gallin, who joined the organization in 2004, is widely credited with putting together the sizeable Collections portion of the trade show. She told FN she’s currently looking at other business opportunities. “It’s time to explore other options where my abilities and talents will be better utilized,” Gallin said. “I wish ENK all the best.”
However, her hope is to remain in the footwear industry. “I’ve grown to love the footwear people,” Gallin said. “I find them the most philanthropic, and the most decent people. I care deeply about the footwear industry. Everyone wants the same thing, which is the betterment of the industry. And that’s wonderful.”
Executives at ENK were unavailable for comment.
