NEW YORK — Six more major players have signed on to next month’s Footwear News Summit, which will bring together some of the industry’s most innovative change agents.
The event, set for June 2, will be held at the Asia Society in New York. It will coincide with FFANY market week and the CFDA awards, set for that evening.
Among the new speakers confirmed are Rick Ausick, president of Famous Footwear, who will delve into the chain’s evolution, its customer base, digital opportunities, the push into Canada and how a focus on family will drive future success.
Meanwhile, five of footwear’s rising design stars will take the stage in a special discussion. The panel will include Paul Andrew, president and chief creative officer of his namesake line; Edoardo Caovilla, designer and chief operations officer of René Caovilla; Edgardo Osorio, founder and designer of Aquazzura; and Louis Leeman Paris creative directors Louis Leeman and Erica Pelosini.
Topics will range from carving out a niche in a crowded market, taking the reins of a family business and cultivating an effective marketing strategy.
Previously announced speakers include a number of top executives, designers and retailers: Patrick Chalhoub, CEO of The Chalhoub Group; Sam Edelman, founder and president of the Sam Edelman division of Brown Shoe Co.; Patrik Frisk, coalition president of Outdoor Americas at VF Corp.; Peter Harris, president of Pedder Group; and Ivanka Trump, founder and CEO of the Ivanka Trump Collection.
