Starring Roles
ShoeDazzle.com, where Kim Kardashian is a guest stylist, is welcoming another celebrity to its roster: Kristen Bell. The actress designed a limited-edition strappy sandal-boot in a nude color with a metallic insole, using faux leather. Bell named the shoe The Midge after one of her family members, and set out to focus on both comfort and style. The result is a look that can be worn for any occasion. The Midge can be purchased on the site for $40, starting Aug. 9, and all of the proceeds will go to The Art of Elysium, a non-profit that sponsors artistic workshops for critically ill children. The site’s next star designer is “The Hills” actress Kristin Cavallari.

RHYME TIME
Oh, the places Converse can go with its Dr. Seuss-inspired line for fall. The boldly colored Chuck Taylor All Star shoes feature famous rhymes and characters from the books, including the Cat in the Hat, Thing 1 and Thing 2. The collection comprises laceups in adult and children’s sizes, and additional Velcro oxford styles for toddlers. The line retails from $35 to $60 and is available at Converse.com, Zappos.com and select Macy’s locations.

Extra Lift
LiftKits is providing an alternative to the toning footwear category with its latest line of inserts, called LiftKits for Chicks. The product fits into boots or sneakers for women and not only adds height but is said to provide the toning benefits of a workout. Similar to the various lines of toning footwear, LiftKits activate your muscles and work the glutes to the core during every step. The inserts come in two models, the low-top and the universal (3/4 inch and 1 1/4 inch respectively), and are available for $20 at Liftkits.com.

Walks of Art
Muk Luks is playing up the power of art for spring ’11 with colors and patterns representative of a painting, including water lily and peacock feather design schemes. The Sun Luks by Muk Luks designs will be featured on buckle-up wedges, peep-toe booties, birdcage flats and gladiator sandals, all made to represent a lightweight, breathable canvas. The line will retail for $50 to $70 and will first be showcased at the Atlanta Shoe Market in mid-August.
