The Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America has a new leader.
The association announced late yesterday that Matt Priest has been tapped as its new president following the December resignation of Peter Mangione.
Priest most recently served as the senior advisor to Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez and deputy assistant secretary for textiles and apparel at the U.S. Department of Commerce. He has also held the position of senior advisor to the assistant secretary for import administration at the Commerce Department.
“Matt brings an outstanding background in both domestic and international footwear issues to FDRA,” said association chairman and H.H. Brown CEO Jim Issler in a statement. “We are very excited to have him on board and look forward to a new direction for the association under his leadership.”
Priest said he was excited about his new role.
“FDRA has a long and proud history of serving its members and the industry at large, and I look forward to bringing new ideas and a fresh perspective to the organization,” he said in a statement.
