Comfort continues to be a top priority for Pediped. The Henderson, Nev.-based brand has incorporated new components into the collection, including Memory Foam Technology, which gives footbeds added cushioning and support. Made of recycled foam, the footbeds mold to the wearer’s foot for a customized fit and feel. Available in boys’ and girls’ sandal styles and girls’ ballet styles, the line retails for $46 to $48. Also on the comfort front is a series of washable, athletic-inspired styles featuring Dryz technology, a moisture-management material that aids in odor and temperature control in the footbeds. Made of lightweight mesh uppers and flexible outsoles, the unisex line retails for $48. Both collections are slate for a January delivery and are available in sizes 5 to 12.
Los Angeles-based Pazitos is having a spring fling with a new line of girls’ casual looks under the name Picaroz (the Spanish word for “mischievous”). The collection features novelty man-made and textile uppers lined with leather for added comfort. While the dressier Pazitos line retails for about $60, Picaroz is priced in the low $50s and includes platforms, sandals and ballet flats. Available in European sizes 28 to 39, the shoes will hit stores in February. Distribution is targeted to independents, retailers, catalogs and boutiques.
