Bally has quashed rumors concerning Brian Atwood departing from his creative director post at Bally. The Swiss brand issued a statement Thursday that said Atwood is not leaving, noting that he is actually working on the next fall collection and is preparing to shoot the label’s spring ’10 advertising campaign. “He will be presenting the new collections next January and February and has a busy schedule of Bally events coming up, including several personal appearances in Asia, Europe and the U.S.,” Bally said in a statement.
The designer himself added, “Bally offers me a challenging outlet, different than my own label. I have always looked to the future here and have no plans of going anywhere. Currently, we are working on the fall ’10 collection, and the spring campaign is finally coming together. I can’t wait to shoot it.”
Sources close to the company — which was purchased in April 2008 by Labelux Group, part of Joh. A. Benckiser, a privately held group based in Vienna — said that recent speculation could have been fueled by the fact that a replacement has not yet been found for CEO Marco Franchini, who left Bally in April.
