Evoking a strange and soft femininity, Martine Sitbon indulged her penchant for dresses to the max for spring. The look was at once controlled and gentle, shiny and matte. A deep V-neck black cocktail frock sprouted generous ruffles at the shoulders; bustier dresses had asymmetric silky fabric swathes or chiffon overlays, while layered peplums added a flirty note to some of the corsetry-inspired looks. Subtle, tone-on-tone animal references added an exotic base note, from gleaming shagreenlike paneling in dark green and black to fabric manipulation that resembled zebra skin adorning the fronts of dresses.
