The Scottish landscape – from the heather-clad hills and windy beaches to the porcini mushrooms that grow by the roadside – fed Clare Waight Keller’s imagination for this ultra-feminine, knitwear-centric collection.

There were knitted viscose dresses with narrow ruffles running down the front, kilt-like skirts, body-hugging dresses wound with tiny pleats, and coppery silk mesh tops – all fit for a warrior queen.

For the past few seasons, Waight Keller has been mixing up different weaves in the same garment, and she continued to experiment.

One lightweight dress featured woven lace and snag-like open work, while others mixed crocheted and flat weave techniques. Before the show, the brand premiered a short film by Ryan McGinley starring the Highland-dwelling Tilda Swinton. Setting the mood, it showed the actress scrambling over castle walls and running along sunset-drenched beaches looking glamorous in full Pringle gear.
