In the apt venue of an 1820 library on 44th Street, Araks Yeramyan showed a tightly edited lineup of smart, feminine sportswear with a bookish bent — terrific shrunken double-breasted blazers, Peter Pan-collared blouses and chic tapered pants — which added up to her best collection to date. She worked the nostalgic side of sweet in thin cardigans with horn buttons; slouchy shorts, and pieces in a Wes Anderson-esque palette of burnt orange, navy and nude, mixed in with items in classic stripes, dots and in a miniature-flower print. Much of the delight was in the details, as in the exquisite microbeaded floral toppers and dresses with subtle tucks or pleats. Read: These are clothes girls will love.
