Designer Michael Herz took the trench to dramatic new heights and lengths, borrowing details and flourishes from the ballroom - and the battlefield. Models swept onto the runway in floor-length trenches, their hems or lapels covered in taffeta ruffles. On a tougher note, he turned out short trenches with flak jacket-inspired details - such as patch pockets and zippers - in shades of cinnamon and army green.
