For those who doubted New York Fashion Week parties are back big time, Alexander Wang put their worries to rest with the blow out he threw Saturday night, with help from Katie Grand, MAC and Milk Studios. Held at a gas station adjacent to Milk, the rager boasted three bars, performances by Santigold and Courtney Love, cheeseburgers and fries from Pop Burger and a free-for-all in the convenience store section where revelers could load up on junk food and beverages gratis.

"I'm so excited about these snacks! I'm a big junk food fan," said Devon Aoki as she grabbed Twix, Butterfingers and Orbitz gum before heading outside.  Pixie Geldof was into the Nerds while nearby Alice Dellal literally stuffed a plastic bag with Cup Noodles and green apples (her food supply for the week?).

Considering the crowd—seemingly every black leather-clad and shaved head girl in town—the real thought on most people's minds was the danger of combining cigarettes with the location's multiple gasoline tanks.

 

"Are we all going to die?" fretted one guest.

 

"Please stop smoking—we're in a gas station!" yelled the DJ to the likes of Mischa Barton, Lily Donaldson, Isabeli Fontana, Anouck Lepere, Trish Goff, Tallulah Harlech, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld and a very slender Jared Leto.

 

No one listened but thankfully there was no need for concern.

"We're safety first—we turned off the gas hours ago," assured one of the location's actual attendants, Elvin Torres, who seemed amused by the evening's proceedings. "I'd never think of a fashion party here."



Or a performance by Love, for that matter. The rocker took to a makeshift stage in a sparkly black top to deafening cheers and sang a mix of hits starting with "Malibu" from her Hole days.

 

"Come to Mommy," she screamed over and over again. "If you want f--king DJ music leave a--holes. And if you want fu--ing slow music, stay," she continued before launching into "Northern Star."

 

"I believe that Leighton Meester covers [one of my songs] very badly. I want to see Taylor Momsen! This really needs to be YouTubed. People, you need to shut up and learn. If you're not going to shut up a--hole, I'm not going to give you this f--king song. That means you in the back.

 

"Do you know what I got to play? One carton of cigarettes and a pair of shoes," she said before she attempted to crowd surf and Wang jumped onstage and into her arms.
