Reem Acra is enamored with three basic silhouettes: the shirtdress, caftan and kimono. But there was nothing basic about the ways she worked long or short versions of each. Shirtdresses were short and swirly for the most part — in pleated chiffons and one splendid lean look, embellished with bright semiprecious stones. Caftans were more muted in tan crepe with embroidered detail, or as an asymmetric gown in gold chiffon. And the kimono looked newest — almost sporty — rendered in tan chiffon with ivory charmeuse insets.
