Nicole Miller is known for her affinity for far-off places; a different locale inspires most seasons. For spring, it was Haiti and its voodoo culture. Sound dark? It was anything but. Miller made appealing use of the island’s spirit in colorful sequins, beadwork and prints, which decorated lovely asymmetric dresses and skirts. Even her most literal use of the Haitian motif, on a beaded voodoo doll print dress, charmed. Still, for all of Miller’s fancy pattern play, the tailored sportswear, a striped boyfriend blazer paired with harem pants in particular, was the most spellbinding.
