Derercuny has gained momentum in recent seasons, and designer Mina Lee has established a tough romantic aesthetic for the three-year-old label. For spring, she gave her muse, an aloof aristocratic belle, an edgy glam rock style. To wit, Lee put her in skinny leather pants and pretty diaphanous tops embellished with crystals or feathers, or pearl and sequin appliquéd boleros tossed over sassy minis or pants. Dresses are Lee’s forte, and some of the best included a papery black silk number topped with a gigantic origami bow and a flouncy mini-frock made from 15 meters of floral printed chiffon that appeared to float down the runway.
