The trench is a constant source of inspiration for Graeme Fidler and Michael Herz, and this season they worked it into fluid shapes, and adorned it with ruffles, sparkles and pleats. There were trench-inspired dresses fashioned from liquid jersey with pleated sleeves, and coats with fluttery ruffles down one side. But the duo also moved beyond raincoat shapes, turning out navy trapeze dresses with embroidered hemlines, and other dresses with white ruffles peeking from under organza overlays or with sparkling beads spilling down the front. This is the last season that Fidler and Herz are working together on the collection. Chief executive Kim Winser said the business is doing so well that Herz will continue to work on the women’s collection, while Fidler will dedicate himself to Aquascutum's men’s wear collection.
