Angela Missoni’s man is a globetrotter, and his eclectic wardrobe is the badge of his worldliness. India, Africa, China and England all figure in her easy, romantic collection that had a slight undercurrent of grunge thanks to mixing and matching and unruly layering. To her credit, Missoni is playing with the house codes in a more freewheeling way, and racheting up the hip factor in a big way. She delivered endless variations of one key look - crinkled outerwear tossed over cotton shirts and rolled up checkered pants or faded jeans, paired with the house’s staple knits. This season, they included lively patchworks or graphic motifs in a palette of sunset hues that made one long for an exotic vacation.  This strong collection tailgates a fabulous women’s fall lineup, further underlining how Missoni is succeeding in turning the house’s distinctive, and at times challenging, signatures into hip and modern clothes.
